Swedish Massage Dubai At Your Home, 24/7
A DHA-licensed therapist comes to your home, hotel, or apartment anywhere in Dubai with a professional table, premium oils, and fresh linens. From AED 450 for sixty minutes, at any hour, at one price across the whole city.
Swedish is the most booked massage in the world and the most underestimated. If you are trying to choose between this and something firmer, the next section is the one to read.
Are You Tight, or Are You Tired?
Almost everyone choosing a massage is really answering this question, usually without realising it. Get it right and the hour is excellent. Get it wrong, and it is a waste of four hundred dirhams.
Tight is local and specific. You can point at it. A band across the shoulders. One side of the neck that does not turn as far as the other. A lower back that complains when you stand up. It has been there for weeks or months, stretching does not touch it, and it is the same spot every time.
If that is you, book deep tissue. Pressure is the right tool, and this page is not for you.
Tired is general and everywhere. Nothing hurts exactly. You are just depleted, sleeping badly or not enough, running at a pace you cannot keep up, jaw slightly clenched without noticing, mind that will not stop when you lie down. You cannot point at a spot because it is not in a spot.
If that is you, pressure is the wrong tool entirely. Firm work on a body that is already running on empty is another demand on a system that has had enough of them. Book Swedish.
Both at once? Very common. Book ninety minutes of Swedish and name the one area that needs more attention. You get the settling effect across the whole session plus concentrated work where it is needed, which suits most people better than an hour of pure pressure.
The Most Underrated Massage There Is
Swedish has a reputation problem. It is treated as the beginner option, the one you book when you do not want anything serious, the soft choice, a nice hour with no real substance.
That is wrong, and it comes from a misunderstanding of what it is for.
Swedish does not do a lighter version of what deep tissue does. It does something different. Deep tissue works on tissue. Swedish works on the whole state you arrive in. One is a mechanical job on a specific tight structure; the other is about getting a system that has been switched on for months to switch off for an hour.
Those are separate problems, and they need separate treatments. Calling one of them the beginner option is like calling a good night’s sleep the beginner version of physiotherapy.
There is also this: Swedish is the treatment people book most, return for most, and stay with longest. Not because it is easy, but because for the majority of people, most of the time, being wrung out is the actual problem.
The Four Techniques
Four techniques, working together. The names are Swedish massage’s own vocabulary, and you do not need them, but it is worth seeing what the therapist is doing.
Long gliding strokes (effleurage). Broad, flowing passes that warm the tissue, spread the oil and set the rhythm of the session. Most of a Swedish massage is this.
Kneading (petrissage). Lifting, rolling and squeezing muscle between the hands, the part that feels like something is actually being worked rather than stroked.
Friction. Smaller, more focused circular pressure where something needs a little more attention than the flowing work gives it.
Passive movement. The therapist gently moves a joint for you an arm, an ankle while you do nothing at all.
The defining feature is that it does not stop. This is the real difference from deep tissue, and it matters more than pressure does. Deep tissue is full of pauses: the therapist finds something, holds it, waits for it to give. Swedish keeps moving in a continuous rhythm from start to finish.
That rhythm is not decoration. It is the mechanism. A sustained, predictable, unhurried rhythm is what allows a nervous system to stop anticipating the next thing, and that is what people are actually paying for when they book Swedish, even when they describe it as wanting to relax.
What It Feels Like
Comfortable throughout. That is the honest answer, and it is the point rather than a limitation.
The pressure is light to medium, and it should never be something you have to tolerate. You are not bracing, not breathing carefully, not counting down. Most people stop tracking time; your therapist will carry on.
You may feel warm, or slightly heavy, or pleasantly disconnected. Some people find their mind races for the first ten minutes and then stops. Others talk for five minutes and then go quiet. All of that is ordinary.
You will not be sore tomorrow. No mild ache, no tenderness, nothing to recover from. Swedish feels best while it is happening and for the rest of that evening, whereas deep tissue tends to feel best the next morning. Different treatments, different curves.
If you want it firmer, say so. Swedish has range, and medium pressure within a Swedish session is a perfectly normal request. It is still a different thing from deep tissue, because the rhythm and the intent stay the same.
Why It Is the Right First Massage
If you have never had a professional massage, book this one. Three reasons.
You learn what you like. Pressure preference is personal, and nobody knows theirs in advance. A Swedish session teaches you where your comfortable range sits, which makes every booking after it better.
You learn how to talk during a session. Saying “a bit lighter”, “more time there”, “please skip that area” feels awkward the first time and completely normal by the third. It is much easier to practise that in a comfortable session than a demanding one.
Nothing about it is a test. Deep tissue asks something of you: attention, and a willingness to stay relaxed under real pressure. Swedish asks nothing. For a first hour on a table, in your own home, with someone you have not met, that matters.
The most common way a first massage goes wrong is someone booking deep tissue because it sounds more serious, finding it uncomfortable, staying politely silent about it, and concluding that massage is not for them. That happens constantly, and it is entirely avoidable.
What It Honestly Does
Modest and true, rather than impressive and vague.
Most people sleep better that night. This is by far the most commonly reported effect and for many clients it is the entire reason they rebook. If your sleep has been poor, book an evening session rather than a morning one.
Muscular tension eases across the whole body rather than in one targeted place. Less dramatic than deep tissue on a specific tight band, more even.
It feels calming while it is happening, not only afterwards, which is a real thing to buy for an hour, and worth saying plainly.
Skin warms and colour rises as circulation increases in the worked area. You can see it happening.
You get an hour where nothing is required of you. No phone, no decisions, no one needing anything. For a lot of people, that is genuinely the rarest hour of their month, and it does not need dressing up as medicine.
What it does not do. It will not shift a tight band that has been in your shoulder for three years that needs pressure and repetition. It will not correct posture. It does not detoxify anything, because nothing is being flushed out of you; that claim is marketing rather than physiology, and we would rather not repeat it. And it is not a substitute for medical care. If something is sharply painful, came on suddenly, or has not shifted in weeks, see a doctor before booking a massage.
Who Should Book Something Else
Long-standing, localised tightness: deep tissue, and name the area.
You want firm therapeutic work but not the intensity of deep tissue Balinese. It sits between the two, and it is what a lot of people actually want when they say deep tissue.
You feel stiff and restricted rather than tired or tight, as though movement has gone rather than muscle being tight. Thai massage. Assisted stretching on a mat, through clothing, no oils.
You are cold and stiff, particularly from air conditioning; hot stone. Heat reaches further than hands alone at a lower pressure.
You are recovering from hard training sports recovery.
We would rather tell you to book something else than sell you the wrong hour. If you are unsure, describe the problem in your WhatsApp message, and we will tell you which to choose.
Sixty or Ninety
For most treatments, this is a budget question. For Swedish it is not, and it is worth being honest about why.
The settling effect builds over the session. Sixty minutes is a good hour, and plenty of people book nothing else, but it takes roughly fifteen minutes before most people stop mentally tracking the session, which leaves forty-five minutes of the real thing. Ninety minutes leaves seventy-five.
Book sixty if it is your first session, if budget is the deciding factor, or if you want to try it before committing to longer. It works.
Book ninety if sleep is the problem, if you are booking because you are depleted rather than curious, or if you want an area given extra attention alongside the full-body work. This is the one treatment where the longer session is genuinely a different experience rather than more of the same one.
Book one hundred and twenty; it rarely suits some people beautifully and leaves others restless. Try ninety first.

What Comes With It
A professional hydraulic table, freshly laundered linens used only for your session, high-grade oils, and music if you want it. Setup takes a few minutes in whichever room you choose.
You need about two metres by two metres of clear floor. A studio manages it once a coffee table is pushed aside. No spare room, and no need to tidy.
Two things that cost nothing and make a real difference to a Swedish session specifically. Turn the overhead lights down; lying face up under ceiling spotlights is the most common small complaint we hear anywhere, and it works directly against what this treatment is for. And put your phone in another room, not on silent beside you.
A short consultation happens before anything starts. Mention any injury, recent surgery, pregnancy, high blood pressure, varicose veins or medication affecting circulation — all of those change how a therapist works, and none of them stops you having a massage.
Who Suits This Treatment
For Swedish, the thing that matters is not strength. It is rhythm, consistency and pace: a therapist who holds an unhurried tempo for ninety minutes without drifting, and who does not fill the session with conversation unless you want one.
That is a different skill from firm remedial work, and a therapist whose strength is one is not automatically good at the other. So we tell you which you are getting. Before you confirm, you receive their name, photograph, specialisation and DHA licence number, and every number is published on our therapist page so you can check it on the Dubai Health Authority’s public register yourself.
Gender and language are requested at booking and confirmed rather than hoped for. The therapist named in your confirmation is the therapist who arrives if somebody else is at your door, send them away, and you owe nothing.
You can also request a therapist by name once you find one whose pace suits you, which for this treatment matters more than people expect.
Sending Us a Message
Message us on WhatsApp with the duration, your address or hotel and room number, the time you want, and any preference on therapist gender or language. If sleep is the reason you are booking, say so; it changes what we would recommend about timing.
A confirmation comes back in about thirty minutes: name, photograph, specialisation, licence number and arrival estimate. Nothing is committed until you approve it, and a therapist is usually with you within sixty to ninety minutes.
During the session you can ask for lighter or firmer pressure, more time somewhere, or for an area to be left alone entirely, at any point, and you can end it whenever you like without explaining yourself.
Every Area, One Price
Everywhere in Dubai, at the same price, twenty-four hours a day. Swedish is the most requested treatment in the parts of the city where people arrive tired rather than injured: JBR and Palm Jumeirah for post-flight recovery and holiday sleep, Al Barsha for visiting family, and Deira for anyone landing after a long journey.
Every area we cover is listed on our home spa service page, and you can book a massage at home across Dubai on identical terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Swedish massage?
A full-body massage using long gliding strokes, kneading, focused circular friction, and gentle passive movement of the joints, at light to medium pressure. Its defining feature is a continuous, unhurried rhythm that does not stop, unlike deep tissue, which pauses to hold pressure on specific tight areas. That sustained rhythm is what makes it settling rather than corrective, and it is the most booked massage in the world.
How much is a Swedish massage in Dubai?
AED 450 for sixty minutes, AED 600 for ninety minutes, and AED 780 for two hours, delivered at your own address. Every price includes the therapist, the professional table, premium oils, fresh linens, the setup, and the travel, with no travel charge and no night surcharge. The rate is the same in every area of Dubai, and payment is taken at the end rather than when you book.
What is the difference between Swedish and deep tissue massage?
Swedish uses continuous flowing strokes at light to medium pressure across the whole body and is aimed at settling you down. Deep tissue is slower and far more specific, using sustained pressure to work through the layers of particular tight areas. The simplest way to choose: if you can point at the problem and it has been there for months, book deep tissue. If nothing hurts exactly and you are just depleted, book Swedish. Swedish feels best while it is happening; deep tissue tends to feel best the following day.
Which massage should I book if I cannot sleep?
Swedish, ninety minutes, booked in the evening rather than the morning. Better sleep that night is the single most commonly reported effect of a Swedish session, and if sleep is the reason you are booking it is worth saying so at the time so the therapist can plan the session accordingly. If poor sleep persists, that is worth raising with a doctor rather than treating with massage alone.
Is Swedish massage good for a first massage?
Yes, and it is the right first booking for most people. It teaches you what pressure you like, it gives you an easy setting in which to practise asking for adjustments, and nothing about it is demanding. The most common way a first massage goes wrong is booking deep tissue because it sounds more serious, finding it uncomfortable, staying quiet about it, and concluding massage is not for you.
Will I be sore after a Swedish massage?
No. There is nothing to recover from no mild ache the next day and no tenderness. That is a real difference from deep tissue, where about a day of mild tenderness is normal.
Can I ask for firmer pressure during a Swedish massage?
Yes. Swedish has range, and medium pressure within a Swedish session is a completely normal request. It remains a different treatment from deep tissue because the rhythm and the intent stay the same. Ask at booking or at any point during the session.
Does Swedish massage remove toxins?
No. Nothing is being flushed out of your body that is a marketing claim rather than physiology, repeated often enough that it started sounding like fact. Drinking water afterwards is still sensible, because most people are mildly dehydrated anyway and standing up briskly after lying still for an hour can leave you light-headed.
Is it normal to fall asleep during a massage?
Entirely normal, and most people do at some point. Your therapist will carry on. It is generally taken as a compliment rather than a problem.
Can I request a female therapist?
Yes, and it is guaranteed rather than requested. Gender preference is confirmed at booking, and the therapist named in your confirmation is the one who arrives. Male therapists are equally available.
Can I book Swedish massage late at night?
Yes, twenty-four hours a day, every day, including public holidays, at the same rate as a daytime session. If you are booking for sleep, a late session is often the better choice.
Is home massage legal in Dubai?
Yes, when the service is delivered by therapists licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. Massage in the UAE is a regulated activity and legitimate providers are required to work with DHA-licensed therapists rather than informal freelancers. We publish our therapists’ licence numbers so you can verify them yourself before booking.
