Home Massage in Arabian Ranches: A DHA-Licensed Therapist at Your Villa

A therapist comes to your villa in Arabian Ranches, Arabian Ranches 2 or Arabian Ranches 3 with a professional table, premium oils and fresh linens, and sets up in whichever room you choose. Sessions from AED 400, any hour of any day.

Leave the therapist’s name at your community gate, and there is nothing else to arrange.

Fifteen Years in Dubai and You Still Have Not Done This

Arabian Ranches is one of the oldest villa communities in the city, and a lot of the people living here have been in the same house for a very long time. Children who arrived at six are now at university. The trees people planted when they moved in are the ones shading the street.

Which means a fair number of our clients here are in their fifties and sixties, have lived in Dubai longer than most of the people selling to them have been alive, and have never once had a proper massage at home.

They have had the hotel spa on holiday, once, some years ago. It was pleasant and slightly awkward. Since then it has stayed on the list of things other people do.

If that is you, this page is written for you. The next two sections explain exactly what happens, including the parts nobody says out loud, because the actual barrier is almost never price or time. It is not knowing what you are agreeing to.

What Actually Happens in the Hour

Before the therapist arrives. Nothing to prepare. Clear a patch of floor about two metres by two metres, and that is genuinely the whole requirement. You do not need to tidy, you do not need to provide towels or oils, and nobody is assessing your house.

When they arrive. They come in, set up the table in the room you have chosen, and it takes a few minutes. Then they sit down and ask you a handful of questions: what hurts, what you want from the hour, anything they should avoid, anything you take. That conversation is short, and it matters, so say more rather than less.

What you take off. As much or as little as you are comfortable with. Most people undress to their underwear. You get privacy to do that; you get under the sheet, and from then on only the part being worked on is uncovered a leg, or the back while the rest of you stays covered. Nothing is ever exposed that is not being worked on. If you would rather keep more on, say so and the session adapts. Thai massage is done fully clothed, if that suits you better.

Whether it hurts. It should not. Firm work on something tight can be uncomfortable in a way that feels productive. The phrase people use is “good sore” but sharp pain is not part of it, and if something hurts, you say so and the pressure changes. That is not rude; it is the entire job. The most common mistake first-timers make is lying there politely enduring something they are not enjoying and concluding afterwards that massage is not for them.

If you fall asleep. Most people do at some point. It is a compliment, not a problem, and your therapist will carry on.

If you want to talk, or not. Both fine. Some people chat the whole way through, and some say nothing after the first two minutes. You do not have to hold up a conversation.

Afterwards. Get up slowly, drink some water, and do not plan anything demanding for an hour. You may feel slightly heavy or dozy for the rest of the evening; that is normal, and it passes by morning.

Am I Too Old for This?

No, and it is asked more often than you would think.
Massage adapts to the person on the table. Pressure, positioning, and the pace of the session all change depending on who you are and what you want. Nobody is going to do something to you that you have not agreed to, and a good therapist spends the first few minutes finding out where your limits are rather than assuming.
If lying face down is uncomfortable, which it is for plenty of people, the session can be done on your side with pillows, or mostly face up. Say so at booking, and the therapist plans for it.
If you are less mobile than you were, or getting on and off a table is a concern, mention it. There are ways around it, including working with you seated for part of the session.
And if you are simply out of practice at being touched, which is more common than anyone admits, particularly for people living alone, that is a reason to book rather than a reason not to. Swedish massage at a lighter pressure is the right place to start, ninety minutes, full body. It is not corrective, it is not intense, and it is the session most likely to make the second booking feel easy.

If You Ride

The Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club sits inside this community, and a genuine number of our Arabian Ranches clients ride some seriously, some a couple of mornings a week, several with horses of their own.
Riding leaves a very particular pattern, and it is one almost nobody in this market knows how to work with.
The inner thighs. Gripping through the saddle for an hour, and it is the first thing anyone notices after a long session or a return after time off.
The lower back. You are absorbing the horse’s movement through your spine continuously, and rising trot in particular asks the lower back to work the entire time. It is the most common complaint among riders who have been at it for years.
Hips and the front of the thigh. Held in a fixed, open position throughout, then walked out of stiffly afterwards.
Arms, forearms and hands. Rein contact is constant low-grade holding, and after a couple of hours the forearms are tight in the same way a long drive leaves them. Ask for hands and forearms to be included; almost no one does, and riders are usually surprised.
Neck and shoulders. Helmet weight plus holding your head up and looking where you are going.
And the yard work, which is often harder than the riding. Mucking out is repeated shovelling and twisting. Water buckets are carried one-sided. Hay is lifted awkwardly and at height. Wheelbarrows are pushed with the back rather than the legs. If you do your own horses, the yard is doing more damage than the saddle is, and it is worth saying so when you book.
What to book. Ninety minutes weighted to the inner thighs, hips, lower back and shoulders, with time on the forearms. Deep tissue if the tightness is well established, Balinese if you want firm work that is easier to lie through. Thai massage is worth considering if the problem is stiffness and restricted movement rather than tight tissue it works through clothing on a mat and is aimed at range of motion.
If you came off. See a doctor before booking anything, even if you feel fine. We are a spa service, and a fall needs looking at properly first.

Things Worth Mentioning When You Book

None of this stops you having a massage. All of it changes how the therapist works, which is why it is worth two lines in your WhatsApp message.
Anything you take regularly. Some medication makes people bruise more easily, in which case the therapist simply works lighter. Some affects blood pressure, in which case getting off the table slowly at the end matters more than usual. Your therapist does not need to know what the medication is for, only that there is some.
Recent surgery, or anything still healing. The area gets avoided, and the rest of the session goes ahead normally.
If a doctor has told you your bones are thinner than they should be. Pressure gets adjusted accordingly. This is routine, and it is not a reason to skip the massage.
Varicose veins. Direct pressure over them is avoided in proper practice. A trained therapist works around the area and adapts rather than leaving the leg untreated. Any therapist who does not ask about this is one worth questioning.
Pregnancy, at any stage. It changes both positioning and technique. Tell us at booking so we assign accordingly.
Anywhere you simply do not want touched. No reason required, and it does not need justifying at the door. Say it when you book, and it is noted before the therapist arrives.
If something is sharply painful, came on suddenly, or has not shifted in weeks, see a doctor before booking a massage rather than after. Massage helps with muscular tightness. It is not a substitute for finding out what is actually wrong.

Through the Gate

Simple, and there is only one thing we need from you.

Leave the therapist’s name with security. Arabian Ranches, Arabian Ranches 2, and Arabian Ranches 3 are gated, and your therapist is a visitor like any other. We send you the name at confirmation specifically so you have it in time to call it in.

Give us the sub-community. Al Reem, Savannah, Mirador, Saheel, Alvorada, Palmera, Terra Nova, Hattan, Polo Homes, Rosa, Yasmin, Samara, Azalea, Lila, Camelia, Casa, Joy, Rasha, Ruba, Sun, Anya the estate is large and spread out, and the sub-community plus your villa number gets your therapist to the right door first time. A location pin helps as well.

Allow a little extra time. Arabian Ranches sits a real distance out along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, and while we quote sixty to ninety minutes across most of Dubai, the far sub-communities can sit at the longer end of that. We would rather give you a realistic arrival time than a flattering one.

Parking and space are not issues here, which after writing about the Marina and Deira is a pleasure to be able to say.

Arrival is unremarkable. Professional clothing, a folded table, a kit bag. Nothing about it draws attention on a residential street.

How Payment Works

At the end of the session, never at the point of booking.

Visa and Mastercard, credit or debit. Apple Pay. Google Pay. A Stripe payment link if you would rather not hand a card over. Botim, Ziina or direct bank transfer.

Cash is fine too, in dirhams or in any world currency you happen to have dollars, pounds, euros, rupees, Australian or New Zealand dollars.

Receipts on request.

Which Room

The table needs about two metres by two metres of clear floor, which is a non-question in a Ranches villa. The useful decision is which room, and it makes more difference than people expect.

Quiet beats large. A guest room, a study or a majlis is better than an open-plan living area, because sound carries and the point is to stop paying attention to things. If there are others in the house, upstairs usually beats downstairs.

Turn the overhead lights down if you can. Lying face-up under ceiling spotlights is the most common small complaint we hear anywhere in the city, and it is the easiest thing to fix.

Between roughly October and April, the garden or a shaded terrace works as well as any room, provided the ground is level. Tell us at booking so the therapist plans the setup.

Everything else arrives with the therapist: table, oils, fresh sanitised linens, music if you want it. Drink water beforehand, skip a heavy meal in the hour before, and the short conversation at the start covers the rest.

The Therapist

A massage works better when you can talk properly to the person giving it. Pressure, sore spots, what to leave alone, when something is too much if that conversation is difficult, the session quietly gets worse, because you say less than you should and the therapist adjusts less than they should.

Our team includes therapists trained in Thai, Indian, Filipino, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese and European traditions, and you can request a language when you book. You can also request a gender, and it is confirmed rather than hoped for.

Before you agree to anything, you receive the therapist’s name, photograph, specialisation and DHA licence number. Every number is published on our therapist page so you can check it yourself before anyone comes to your house. Every home massage service in Dubai claims DHA-licensed therapists; as far as we can find, none of the others will show you the numbers.

The person named in your confirmation is the person who arrives. If someone else does, turn them away and you owe nothing.

If you find someone who suits you, ask for them by name next time. Most of our long-standing clients book the same therapist every time, and it is worth more than people expect someone who already knows your back starts further along than someone beginning from nothing.

Making a Booking

Message us on WhatsApp with the treatment and length, your sub-community and villa number, the time you want, and whether you would prefer a male or female therapist and a particular language. Add anything from the list further up this page that applies to you.

If you are not sure what to book, describe the problem instead, and we will tell you. That includes telling you when sixty minutes is enough, or when the answer is a lighter session rather than a firmer one.

A confirmation comes back in about thirty minutes: name, photograph, specialisation, licence number and an arrival estimate. Nothing is committed until you approve it, and that is when you get the name to leave at your gate.

Afterwards you get plain aftercare water, a stretch or two if they are relevant, and an honest view on whether this is worth repeating or was a one-off.

What You Can Expect From Us

Published licence numbers. Everyone in this market claims DHA-licensed therapists. We are the only service we can find that lets you verify it before booking.

The whole price list is on this page. No quote-on-request, no night surcharge, no travel charge for the distance out here, no upsell once someone is in your house.

You approve the therapist’s first name, photograph, specialisation, gender, language.

Honest arrival times. If your sub-community sits at the far end, we will tell you, rather than quoting a number that makes the booking look better.

You can stop at any point, ask for less pressure, or have an area left alone entirely, without explaining yourself.

A team, not an app. Booking platforms hand you to whichever independent provider accepts the job. We vet our therapists, stand behind them, and rebook you free if a session falls short.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a home massage cost in Arabian Ranches?

Sessions start at AED 400 for sixty minutes of deep tissue or Balinese, and AED 450 for sixty minutes of Swedish, Thai, hot stone or full body relaxation. Ninety minutes start at AED 550 and two hours at AED 700. Couples massage with two therapists starts at AED 800. Every price includes the therapist, table, oils, linens, setup, and travel out to you, with no distance surcharge and no night rate.

The therapist arrives, sets up the table in a room you choose, and asks a few questions about what hurts and what you want from the session. Most people undress to their underwear, with privacy to do so, and from then on only the part being worked on is uncovered while the rest stays covered. It should not hurt; firm work can feel productively uncomfortable, but sharp pain is not part of it, and you can ask for less pressure at any point. Afterwards, get up slowly and drink some water. Falling asleep partway through is common and entirely fine.

As much or as little as you are comfortable with. Most people undress to their underwear. Only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time, and the rest of you stays under the sheet throughout. If you would rather keep more on, say so and the session adapts. Thai massage is performed fully clothed if that suits you better.

No. Pressure, positioning and pace all adapt to the person. If lying face down is uncomfortable, the session can be done on your side with pillows or mostly face up, and if getting on and off a table is a concern, there are ways around it, including working with you seated for part of it. Mention any of this at booking, and the therapist will plan for it. A lighter Swedish session at ninety minutes is usually the best place to start.

Anything you take regularly, any recent surgery or anything still healing, varicose veins, pregnancy at any stage, if a doctor has told you your bones are thinner than they should be, and anywhere you would simply rather not be touched. None of it stops you having a massage; all of it changes how the therapist works. Your therapist does not need to know what a medication is for, only that there is one.

Ninety minutes weighted to the inner thighs, hips, lower back and shoulders, with time included on the forearms and hands. Riding grips through the inner thigh, holds the hips in a fixed position and asks the lower back to absorb movement continuously, while rein contact tightens the forearms. If you do your own yard work, mention it mucking out, carrying water, and lifting hay usually account for more than the riding does. If you have come off a horse, see a doctor before booking anything.

Yes, to all three phases and every sub-community within them. Leave the therapist’s name with your community gate as you would for any visitor, and give us the sub-community name and villa number when you book.

Usually at the longer end of the sixty to ninety minutes we quote across Dubai, because Arabian Ranches sits a real distance out along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. We will give you a realistic estimate at confirmation rather than an optimistic one. There is no distance surcharge.

Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe payment links, Botim, Ziina, and bank transfer. Cash is accepted in UAE dirhams or in any major world currency. Payment is taken after the session, never in advance.

Yes, and it is guaranteed rather than requested. Gender preference is confirmed at booking, and the therapist named in your confirmation is the one who arrives. Male therapists are equally available.

Yes, between roughly October and April. A shaded terrace or a level, private corner of the garden works as well as any room. Mention it when you book so the therapist can plan the setup. We would not recommend it in the summer months.

Yes, when the service is delivered by therapists licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Massage in the UAE is a regulated activity, and legitimate providers are required to work with DHA-licensed therapists rather than informal freelancers. Every therapist we send holds a valid DHA licence, and we publish their licence numbers on our therapist page so you can verify them yourself before you book.

Yes, twenty-four hours a day, every day, including public holidays, at the same rate as a daytime session.
