Sports Massage Dubai At Your Home, 24/7
A DHA-licensed therapist trained in sports and recovery work comes to your home, hotel, or apartment anywhere in Dubai with a professional table, oils, and fresh linens. From AED 450 for sixty minutes, at any hour, including before dawn and late at night, which, in this climate, is when most people actually train.
Sports Massage Is Really Four Treatments
This is the thing almost nobody explains, and it is why people book sports massage and get something they did not expect.
“Sports massage” is not one treatment. It is four, and they are so different that two of them barely resemble each other. Which one you should get depends entirely on where you are in relation to your next hard effort.
Pre-event. Short fifteen to twenty-five minutes, not an hour. Brisk, warming, stimulating, and deliberately not deep. The aim is to leave muscle awake and ready, not softened. Done anywhere from half an hour to a few hours before you compete or train hard.
Inter-event. Between heats, matches, rounds or sets. Short, light, focused on whatever is complaining most. Rare as a home booking but worth knowing it exists.
Post-event. Within a day or so of a hard effort. Lighter than people expect, broad and flushing rather than pointed, aimed at easing the soreness that arrives a day or two later rather than digging into anything.
Maintenance. The real work, and the one almost everyone actually wants. Sixty to ninety minutes, genuinely deep and specific, done in the middle of a training block with nothing important immediately before or after it. This is where tightness that has been building over weeks gets dealt with.
Get these mixed up and the session works against you. A deep maintenance session the day before a race leaves you feeling flat. A brisk pre-event session when what you needed was maintenance feels like a waste of an hour.
So when you book, tell us what you have coming up. That one sentence determines which of the four you get.
Which One You Actually Want
Almost certainly maintenance, and here is how to tell.
You want maintenance if you train regularly, nothing is imminent, and you have one or more areas that have been tight for weeks. Book sixty or ninety minutes, name the areas, and schedule it mid-week with nothing hard for forty-eight hours either side.
You want post-event if you did something unusually hard in the last day or two — a race, a long ride, a first session back after time off, and you are stiff and sore all over rather than tight in one place. Book sixty minutes and expect it to be gentler than you anticipated.
You want pre-event if you have something tomorrow morning or later today. Say so clearly, because the default session is not this and you do not want the default session.
You are not sure, so describe it. “Marathon in nine days, calves are wrecked” gets a different hour from “no races, left shoulder has been tight since August.” Both are two seconds to type.
Inside a Maintenance Session
What the hour is actually made of, since this is the one most people book.
Warming work first. Broad, flowing passes to get temperature into the tissue. Skipping this and going straight to deep work is how a sports massage becomes unpleasant rather than useful.
Cross-fibre friction. Working across the direction of the muscle fibres rather than along them. This reaches tightness that lengthwise strokes glide over, and it is one of the techniques that distinguishes sports work from a general deep tissue session.
Specific point work. Sustained pressure on the particular spots that are holding, held until they give.
Compression and flushing. Rhythmic, broad pressure along the length of a muscle group, usually toward the end of a section. It feels like being pressed and released in a steady rhythm, and most people find it the best part.
Active and passive movement. The therapist moves a joint through its range while working the muscle, or asks you to contract against gentle resistance. You participate in parts of a sports session, unlike most massage.
And it is regional, not full body. A proper maintenance session spends the hour on the two or three areas that need it: legs and hips, or shoulders and upper back, rather than covering everything evenly. If you want full body, book Swedish or Balinese instead.
It Is Not Relaxing, and Is Not Meant to Be
Worth saying plainly so you book the right thing.
A maintenance sports session is work. It is firm; it involves you being asked to move and contract at points, there is conversation about what hurts and how much, and you will not drift off. People finish feeling worked rather than soothed.
That is the correct outcome for this treatment. If what you actually want is an hour of switching off, this is the wrong booking, and Swedish is the right one, and plenty of people who train hard book Swedish precisely because they get enough intensity in their training.
Both are legitimate. Just do not book sports massage expecting a spa hour, or Swedish expecting your hamstrings to be sorted out.
You Do Not Have to Be an Athlete
The name puts people off, and it should not. The techniques are about repetitive loading, not about competing.
If your job loads the same muscles the same way every day, this is a correctly matched treatment whether or not you have ever entered anything. Standing all day. Lifting and carrying. Hours of tool use with one hand. Long driving shifts. A desk and a mouse.
Gym three times a week counts, and so does walking a dog twice a day, gardening at weekends, or carrying a toddler on one hip for two years. Repetitive asymmetric loading is repetitive asymmetric loading.
Padel, running, cycling, swimming, CrossFit, football: Dubai’s amateur sport scene is enormous, and most of the people in it have never had a sports massage because they assume it is for professionals.
If you are unsure whether you qualify, you do. Describe what you do with your body, and we will tell you whether this is the right treatment or whether something else fits better.
What It Does and What It Does Not
Honest on both sides, because this is the modality most oversold in the industry.
What you can expect. Tight areas ease, often considerably. Range of movement in the worked regions usually improves, and you tend to notice it in how you move the next day rather than immediately. The soreness that follows hard training tends to feel less heavy. And you get an accurate read on what is actually tight, which is frequently not where you thought.
What we are not going to claim. That it prevents injury. That it speeds up healing. That it removes lactic acid or flushes anything out of you; those are claims the industry repeats and we would rather not, because we cannot demonstrate them and you would be right to be sceptical. The technique called flushing is a name for a pressure pattern, not a description of something being drained.
What it definitely does not do. Fix a structural problem. Replace strength work or mobility work, which do things massage cannot. Or substitute for a diagnosis if something is sharply painful, gave way suddenly, or has not improved in weeks; see a doctor or a physiotherapist first. We are a spa service, and that is a genuinely different profession, not a lesser version of this one.
That last distinction matters more on this page than any other on the site, because sports massage sits closest to the line and plenty of providers blur it deliberately.
The Timing Rules
Five, and they cover almost every situation.
Forty-eight hours before anything that matters, nothing deep. Light or nothing at all. Deep work leaves muscle feeling flat for about a day.
Not immediately after a hard effort either. Everything is already sore, and tender, and firm pressure on it is unpleasant without being more useful. Wait a day, then book.
Mid-block is the sweet spot. A day or two after something hard, several days before the next thing. In most people’s weeks that means Monday to Wednesday evening.
Book during a heavy stretch, not after it. If you are three weeks into a demanding block, that is when tightness accumulates fastest and when an hour does most. Waiting until the block ends wastes the window.
Taper weeks and off weeks are for the long deep session you have been putting off. Nothing is depending on your legs.
Tell us your week, and we will slot the right session into it. We would rather move you to Tuesday than take a booking tonight that will not do what you want.
Choose Differently If
One specific spot has been tight for months, and you have no training context. Deep tissue, same depth, no sports-specific framing, and it will be focused the same way.
You want firm work across the whole body rather than two regions. Balinese.
You want to switch off. Swedish.
Range of movement is the problem rather than tight tissue. Thai massage, which works on mobility through assisted stretching.
You are stiff from cold offices rather than from training. Hot stone heat reaches that pattern better than pressure does.
Something is sharply painful or has not improved in weeks. See a doctor before any massage.

Equipment and Space
A professional hydraulic table, freshly laundered linens, oils, and music if you want it. Setup takes a few minutes.
About two metres by two metres of clear floor, as with any table session. You do not need a spare room.
Shower before rather than after if you have come straight from training. Not for politeness; oil applied over dried sweat does not glide properly, and the session is worse for it.
Wear or have to hand loose shorts or similar if you want leg work, since the therapist needs access to hips and upper legs. Linens cover everything not being worked on, as always, but hip and glute work in particular is easier if you are not in restrictive underwear.
A short consultation happens before anything starts. Mention any injury, recent surgery, pregnancy, high blood pressure, varicose veins, or medication affecting circulation, and mention anything currently painful rather than just tight, because that changes whether this is the right treatment at all.
Assigning the Right Therapist
Sports massage is the most technically specific modality we offer. Cross-fibre friction, point work, compression patterns and resisted movement are a distinct skill set, and a therapist who is excellent at relaxation work is not automatically trained in any of it.
So this treatment is assigned to therapists who do it, and you are told who you are getting. Before you confirm, you receive the therapist’s name, photograph, specialisation and DHA licence number, and every number is published on our therapist page so you can check it on the Dubai Health Authority’s public register yourself. Every home massage service in Dubai claims DHA-licensed therapists; as far as we can find, none of the others will show you the numbers.
Request the same therapist for repeat bookings. For sports work, this matters more than for anything else; someone who worked your left hamstring a fortnight ago knows what it was like then, which is information nobody else has.
Gender and language are requested at booking and confirmed rather than hoped for. The therapist named in your confirmation is the therapist who arrives; if somebody else is at your door, send them away, and you owe nothing.
Delivered Citywide
At one price, twenty-four hours a day, which, for this treatment, matters more than most training in Dubai, happens before sunrise or after dark for eight months of the year, and a session at six in the morning or ten at night costs what midday costs.
Most requested in the communities with the heaviest amateur sport populations: Motor City and Dubai Sports City for cycling and the academies, JBR and Dubai Marina for beach running and the gym corridor, Al Quoz for the warehouse padel courts and boxing gyms, and JVC where everyone trains in their building.
Every area we cover is listed on our home spa service page; the full treatment list is on our services page, and you can book a home massage anywhere in Dubai on identical terms.
Message Us to Book
Send us a WhatsApp message with:
- The duration, or say “pre-event” if that is what you need
- The regions you want worked — legs and hips, shoulders and back, whatever it is
- What you train or do, in one line
- What you have coming up, and when
- Your address or hotel and room number, and the time
- Any preference on therapist gender or language
The fourth item is the one that changes the session most, and the one people leave out.
A confirmation comes back in about thirty minutes: name, photograph, specialisation, licence number and arrival estimate. Nothing is committed until you approve it.
During the session, say when something is too much. Firm is correct and painful is not, and the simplest check is your breathing: if you cannot breathe normally, the pressure has gone too far.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is sports massage?
Sports massage is a group of four related treatments rather than one. Pre-event is short, brisk and deliberately not deep, done shortly before hard effort. Inter-event is brief work between heats or matches. Post-event is lighter and broader, done within a day or so of a hard effort. Maintenance is the deep, regional work most people actually want: sixty to ninety minutes in the middle of a training block, using cross-fibre friction, point work, compression and resisted movement on two or three specific areas rather than the whole body.
How much is a sports massage in Dubai?
AED 450 for sixty minutes, AED 600 for ninety minutes and AED 780 for two hours, at your own address. Pre-event sessions are shorter, at fifteen to twenty-five minutes, and are quoted separately. Every price includes the therapist, the table, oils, fresh linens, the setup and the travel, with no travel charge and no night surcharge.
Should I get a sports massage before or after a race?
Neither immediately. Nothing deep within forty-eight hours before something that matters, because deep work can leave muscle feeling flat for about a day. A short pre-event session is fine and is a different treatment. And not straight after a hard effort either, when everything is already sore, and firm pressure is unpleasant without being more useful. Wait a day. The best slot is mid-block: a day or two after something hard and several days before the next thing.
What is the difference between sports massage and deep tissue?
They overlap considerably in depth. Deep tissue is organised around finding and releasing specific tight structures wherever they are. Sports massage is organised around a training cycle; it is regional rather than whole-body, it adds techniques like cross-fibre friction, compression patterns and resisted movement, and the session you get changes depending on what you have coming up. If you have no training context and one spot has been tight for months, deep tissue is the simpler choice.
Do I need to be an athlete to book a sports massage?
No, and the name puts off most of the people it would suit. The techniques address repetitive loading, not competition. If your work loads the same muscles the same way daily standing all day, lifting and carrying, hours of tool use, long driving shifts it is a correctly matched treatment. Amateur sport counts, and so does carrying a child on one hip or walking a strong dog twice a day.
Does sports massage remove lactic acid?
No. That is one of the most repeated claims in the industry, and we are not going to make it, because it cannot be demonstrated. The technique called flushing is a name for a broad rhythmic pressure pattern, not a description of something being drained out of you. What you can reasonably expect is that tight areas ease, range of movement in the worked regions improves, and post-training soreness tends to feel less heavy.
Will a sports massage prevent injury?
We will not claim that either. Massage eases muscular tightness, and most people move better afterwards, but preventing injury involves strength work, mobility work, load management and sleep things massage does not replace. If something is sharply painful, gave way suddenly, or has not improved in weeks, see a doctor or a physiotherapist rather than booking a massage. That is a different profession, not a lesser version of this one.
Is sports massage relaxing?
No, and it is not meant to be. A maintenance session is firm, involves you moving and contracting at points, and includes conversation about what hurts. People finish feeling worked rather than soothed. If you want an hour of switching off, book Swedish instead plenty of people who train hard do exactly that.
How often should I book?
Fortnightly through a heavy training block and monthly otherwise is the pattern that holds for most people. Booked once when something already hurts it helps a little; booked steadily, it keeps tightness from accumulating into the thing that eventually stops you training. A monthly rate is cheaper than paying session by session.
Can I book at five in the morning before training?
Yes. We operate twenty-four hours a day at one rate, which matters for this treatment specifically; Dubai training happens before sunrise or after dark for most of the year.
What should I wear or do beforehand?
Shower before rather than after if you have come straight from training, because oil over dried sweat does not glide properly. Have loose shorts to hand if you want leg work, since hip and upper-leg access is easier that way. Linens cover everything not being worked on throughout.
Can I request the same therapist each time?
Yes, by name, and for sports work it is worth more than for any other treatment. A therapist who worked the same area a fortnight ago knows how it was then, which is information nobody starting fresh has.
Is home massage legal in Dubai?
Yes, when the service is delivered by therapists licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. Massage in the UAE is a regulated activity and legitimate providers are required to work with DHA-licensed therapists rather than informal freelancers. We publish our therapists’ licence numbers so you can verify them yourself before booking.
